  The Migraine – WHAT! Study

  The goal of The Migraine WHAT! – Study is to unravel the pathophysiological role of sex hormonal fluctuations in the provocation of migraine attacks and to find an effective hormone-based treatment for female migraine patients.

  REGON study

  Since September 2022, a new study has started: 'Repeated GON injections as a preventive treatment for chronic cluster headache' (REGON trial). With this study, we want to demonstrate that repeated GON blockades are a suitable first-choice treatment for chronic cluster headache.

  Migraine is a neurological disorder that comes in attacks. However, the unpredictability of these attacks is one of the biggest complaints among patients. At the LUMC, we conduct research into what can trigger an attack, how this works and how we can predict attacks.

  Hormones and clusterheadache

  As of September 2022, a new study has started: '(Sex) Hormones and Cluster Headaches'. With this study we want to investigate the role of (sex) hormones in cluster headache. To this end, we want to compare the hormone values of people with and without cluster headaches.
